White Z10, Black Battery Cover .. ?

Hi All,

First time I've faced a colour dilemma. I was set on getting a black Z10 because it's so sleek but have recently found myself drawn to the white device. I've read that the two colours have different textures on the back and would prefer the rubbery feel of the black device.

Now, I may be crazy, but recently had this idea: a white Z10 with a black battery cover. What are your thoughts on this?

Haha, I was going to use that name too.. but it isn't quite an Oreo is it?

Yea I am totally torn. Bell seems to be not taking orders for the white one, I pre-ordered the black one for now instead

Can't wait or tue 9:00am to pickp the device, if they have the white one avail Tuesday, I might just pick it up.

I have heard that about the texture as well...what does the white one supposedly feel like in comparison to the black? I hope it feels good!

The black one feels much better. Rubber feeling, and the white seems more slippery (plastic) type feel. Although the white looks so nice!!

Main reason I want the white is to make a bit of a statement, so people ask "what is that?". If it's black it kind of blends in with the rest of the androids.

Plus it looks sharp, going to be covered up at some point anyway....

I have the white and love it. The back feels similar to the rubbery feel on the 9800

i was thinking of doing the same, so i got white and my fiancee got black. i tried the black back on my white phone and it just seemed off.
that's just my take.

I took some shots too and think the combo looks pretty nice. The real advantage is the grippier feel of the black cover over the white one.

The back cover of my white z10 is slippery as oil, I have a hard time keeping it in my hand without a case!

That looks really nice! As someone else said, it gives it an ice-cream sandwich look. I could definitely go with that!

And btw, saying you took it from a Nokia Lumia 920, that's not embarrassing! I have a Lumia 920 myself, and I don't care what the CB people think of me for it. I'm sorry but as my primary phone the Curve 8520 isn't going to cut it (I've got it repaired and gonna pop a cheap giffgaff SIM in). And I've owned the Lumia for 3 weeks, so I can't exchange, and can't afford to shell out on a Z10. Plus, for my usage case I have to have a Windows Phone primary.

The white back is a bit slippery (I really do wonder why they didn't apply the same technology to both models) but I don't really care since I bought a flip case, which covers the back anyway.

I think having a more rubbery feel on the white one would rub against surfaces and transfer color. I can see a rubbery white cover turning yellow quickly. Personally I love the white Z10 with the black back and I kinda wanna take Mt black one back and get the white instead now!

That was just a joke. The Nokia 920 is an awesome device and WP8 is an interesting OS. There were just a couple of bugs that annoyed me enough to want to switch. MS will probably fix those (Notification center, individual volume controls) in the next release and then I'll have to really decide which OS to stick to.
