Ok, so I'm about to rig an aftermarket case to have the magnet so it automatically shuts off the phone's screen when closed. I know I can just move the magnet around until I find the spot, but just for the sake of being precise, can someone with a holster or case for the Z10 with that feature maybe take a photo with it and a ruler next to it showing where the magnet is on official holsters? Thanks in advance. :-)

If you aim for the middle of the screen you will be fine.

Exactly the middle? Like center? Vertical and horizontal middle? Thanks for the info so far. :-)

In Portrait, about the middle up/down. But if you open 3 active frames, the sensor seems to be located near the upper left corner of Frame 3. That is about 1/8 to 1/4 inch from the left bezel.

I added a magnet to my Story Leather case to work the Standby Magnet Magic.

    Hey Slagman,

I have done the same thing on a couple of cases - my findings are centered top to bottom, and just slightly off center left to right (closer to the left side as you look at the screen side of the phone)

I was playing with my Z10 and the OEM BlackBerry swivel case.
The magnet that shuts off the display is built into the front case, not on the magnetic flap.
When I place the Z10 on the cover it shut off, when i ran the flap over the face it didn't put the Z10 to sleep.

Do not use a very powerful magnet!!

Don't have a ruler handy, but this is my Seido Convert Holster. Magnet is way off from the center.

Cool, it was said if you're facing the screen it's off to the left? Is that right?

That's correct. Also, The magnet doesn't work if the phone is facing out in the holster. I tried it to see.

Are you trying to drive me nuts!!!!! As someone who is left/right challenged, phrasing like that is enough to drive me off the deep end!!!

Wow, that image didn't show up when I replied, guess the app didn't load it, that clearly shows where it is, thanks. :-)

Yeah, in my reply I started to say that's right, but I said that's correct because I knew that someone who can't decide whether he's right or left would get confused. Then again, I might be right or wrong, or just left behind! :-D
