whatsapp for z10

any idea on when whatsapp will be avaible for the z10 in canada? it's quite annoying that it's not avaiable yet and no I will not get Touch or any other instant messaging app.

There is a huge thread about this. You can use the search bar & just search it. Also no one here knows when it will be released. This info is only going to come out from BlackBerry & from Whatsapp.

It's been confirmed (1000 times it seems) that whatsapp is coming to BB10 however there is not date given. In the mean time you can sideload the android version, however contacts have to message you first.

sorry new to crackberry so not familiar with past threads, but this is quite annoying, during the launch they said they'll have skype whatsapp and thats a big reason why i got the z10, but who knows when it will be available, not the best way for BlackBerry to try to get back in the smart phone market

If you also seen, the app was never released.. They said they WILL have the app but never said it was released. Many developers are waiting to for the US release & some are waiting to see if more people will buy the phone to make the apps. Also Whatsapp said they are making the app but never gave the ETA. Do not get mad at BlackBerry, get mad at Whatsapp for this.

First off, welcome to CrackBerry!
When you have a second, please add your carrier and location to your profile. Makes it easier for others to help you.

As others have already told you above, it's coming, we think "soon" but we don't know when.
If you use Twitter, follow WhatsApp and CrackBerry and you'll know as soon as anybody else does. Also feel free to add pressure on WhatsApp by tweeting and/or emailing them to ask.

The back story with WA is that supposedly they weren't planning on a BB10 app at all. They didn't realize what a big push BB10 would get until they had customers peppering them with requests.
RIM (now BBRY) convinced them to develop the BB10 app, realizing it was in demand.

The reality is you're an early adopter of a brand new platform. The next 1-2 months will see hundreds more of known apps & games become available.
