    I have always wanted to know this since I mostly do a battery pull than a restart. But then again Thorsten promised that we would never need to do a restart/battery pull with the new OS. In any case, I had love to know the difference between those two.

    Not a lot of difference, actually.

    And in fact you didn't HAVE to pull the battery on a BBOS device, either. Hold down the left Alt key, then the press the right Shift and Del keys and it would be roughly the same as a battery pull.

    A reSTART is a little different; in a restart the OS attempts to shut down gracefully on its own.

    I've had to do a couple restarts to fix the android runtime screwing up. For this case both a reset and battery pull fixed it
