Anyone downloaded WhatsApp on Z10? My prev bold had lot of issues after downloading WhatsApp...so wanted to know if its safe on Z10? does it slow it down or hang the phone?

There is no official WhatsApp on BlackBerry as of now.

You can side load it though, there are guides on the net of how to do that. However if you can, wait for the. Native version due "Soon"

Well I just told someone else this about 10 mins ago. There are many port versions of Whatsapp. It has some problems, but does work. You can sideload the one in my list or search whatsapp and see the many threads about it. Biggest problem is about the contacts not populating or something.

Does notifications work with the sideloaded versions? In terms on scanning my contacts, I am glad that it doesn't scan your contacts properly. I am concerned with privacy issues.

Let me lay out the facts:
1.Upto now WhatsApp hasn't made it to BlackBerry 10.But they will making one soon

2.We can sideload What's app for android by converting it.If any body want it and wants to stay updated with new versions check my account.- LINK

3.It doesn't hang very much.only load up times are a bit slow but that's just me on dev alpha.It can a daily driver

4.I. Love it,i mean the new HOLO theme looks pretty good on our BB Z10.Almost like native.Just get the verification code by calling method.

5.If it doesn't detect the contact,ask the other person to sent their contact via what's app (attachments) and add it to ur contacts which gets stored in the BB android emulator's contacts.Vola you got the person added to what's app contacts.

There's already a Yahoo Messenger app on BB World from BBRY. It's under the Social > Instant Messaging section.
