After test for a couple weeks I now keep mine around 30-50%. For me it seems to be the sweet spot of bright enough. My battery has been doing pretty well lately.

Around 50%. The charger is always handy and usage is light so battery life is fine.

About 30% is fine for me unless in bright daylight.

Lowest actually, your eyes get used to it, and it seems the battery prevails the highest at this setting.

Brightness doesn't work the same as other devices. The z10 continuously assess your environment and reduces or increases the lux as it deems necessary. Which is why there isn't any auto brightness option. You can have it set at 100% then put your hand over the camera area and the screen will dim.

    Very intelligent

Really? I have mine set at 100, I've never noticed it dimming. I put my hand over the camera area and nothing happened.

Yes blackberry uses GLO algorithm as posted in another article on crackberry.

    http://m.crackberry.com/why-there-no...blackberry-z10

"Garber Light Optimization", after the engineer who developed it) to automatically adjust the display backlight setting to provide the user with the same perceived brightness regardless of the ambient illumination level. The slider moves that auto-dimming curve up and down to match a user's preference.

Stare at a white spot on the screen, cover your hand over the top part of the phone. You should notice the bright white go dim, then when you remove your hand return to bright again. Whether you notice it or not, the phone does this all the time.

Awesome, haven't seen it do that on mine anyway, and I don't really care to have it dim at all at any time.

At any rate, 100% display on mine 100% of the time. I love the display and my battery lasts pretty much 1.5 days.

I have mine around 25% while indoors. If I go outdoors I bump it up to around 40%. The GLO algorithm works well, especially if indoors adapting to lighting. It works outdoors too, but my eyes just feel more comfortable at 40% whilst outdoors on an extremely sunny day with lots of glare everywhere.

My brightness is bet 40-50% but my battery life has always been great. I don't need to keep the brightness this dim but my eyes are accustomed to it now.
