Default What Does Android Jelly Bean 4.1 Support Mean?

Okay. I've been seeing this EVERYWHERE! I know what Android Jelly Bean is, but I don't get what everyone means by "support?"

Does this have to do with porting apps or something?

    HELP!

not sure I can explain this right but ill try.
all the ported Andriod apps from Blackberry world and what you might of side-loaded work in a Andriod player and that player is an older version of andriod. that is why lots of current Andriod apps cant work because it is already made for the newer Andriod OS.
I hope this makes sence to you.

So, basically if you port an Android app over (let's use Instagram as an example), it won't be some old crappy version?

with Andriod 4.1 support the newer apps will have a much better chance of working. its like the current Blackberry 10 OS is an older Andriod OS and we are waiting for the newer 4.1 OS

For porting you need access to the source code. You can make modifications, fix bugs, add features etc. That's something the original developer can normally only do.

What most here are doing is simply repackaging: unzipping and re-zipping in BlackBerry format.
