Hi - I answered this on your other thread but a Developer OS is barely enough to make the phone work - just enough to test your application to see if it works the way you want it to if you are a developer. It is very small and it has debugging tools built in so it is very efficient for developers. However - because it is missing all the "consumer" things like Alarms, file manager, etc - it is not that useful for real use.

A normal OS has everything else - all the applications, BlackBerry World, BBM, Alarms, etc. A "leak" is a version that came from a Carrier testing place or a developer or from BlackBerry servers. "Leaks" are safe because of how secure BlackBerry is (they can not be hacked). However - a Leak may not be ready for every day use so there is always the possibility that something might not be perfect yet.

At this time 10.3.1.1154 is the latest safest best "leak". Please see your other thread for ideas on how to upgrade to that.

I would have explained it as

"A developer OS is designed and packaged with minimal functionality for developers to test their APPs on. If you are not a developer, then DO NOT USE THIS ON YOUR DEVICE."

If you have to ask, stick to official. Please.
