This is what I did : bought a battery for 8quids online. Then a charging dock with an extra spot for charging the battery. That cost 11.

Installed a 2680 mAh battery in my Z10 and love it. Lots of juice for a full day. No more charging half way through the day.

I have 3 batteries all together and definitely don't have any worries about what I use my phone for. Charging dock works well

Having used both a charger bundle and a add on battery pack case, I think that your best option IS still a charging bundle.

Here are some points for you to consider:

    Charger bundle:
    - you can charge both phone and charger bundle at the same time. I have seen people daisy chaining 2 charger bundles to Z10, charge overnight, repeat and rinse the next day.
    - You can swap the batteries any time, if needed.
    - official batteries, that means guaranteed QC and QA from BlackBerry. (should not combust, but if it did, BlackBerry WILL PAY ATTENTION to YOU).
    - BlackBerry batteries are designed to be charged often and charged not when depleted.
-original charger bundle with ORIGINAL batteries from BlackBerry may cost a bomb.

    Charger case:
    - not rechargeable friendly as a charger bundle. Its often a 100->20% then charge, etc. Some batteries were not designed to be charged like how BlackBerry batteries do, may need complete discharging before recharge.
    - battery quality, questionable. degradation on holding charge also happens.
    - very extra bulk, compated to charger bundle.
    - Price can be cheaper than charger bundle, if you count mAH/price.

I bought the charging bundle for one reason and that's was because when golfing and using a gps distance finder which displays a satellite view, the phone would just barely make it through 4 hours. If you're behind some laggard the phone is on it's last legs before the end of the round. Now as the app is keeping scores you can't just pull the battery and resume as you'd lose all scoring info... not good. So the solution was to bring along the bundle and use it to boost the phone's on time. So that's good.
The bad thing with the bundle (mine) is if I don't use it, the battery will be dead from just sitting in the bundle, which necessitates keeping it charged every couple days or so.
I didn't go with the extended battery as they weren't available when I got the phone and now it would mean I'd have to buy a different holster to fit the fat back if I got one.
