If the phone has been unlocked by the user by a third party person / store, then i am sure its yes it will void the warranty. If you buy the phone unlocked from the carrier or manufacture, then the warranty is still there. Someone may answer better then i have tho as they may be in the states.

If you buy the Z10 in Canada or overseas, and live in the US, yes, there will not be a warranty, as you have to reside in the country where it was purchased.

You would have to work with whoever bought the phone for you if they were nice enough.

I think rim will still honor the warranty as if u look in rims warranty agreement it says nothing about unlocking

I just took a look on the BB site, regarding the warranty for the Playbook - The US and Canada Warranty are the same (even the same document name). So I now wonder if thats the case for the Z10 in respect to USA and Canada.
