Well, I'm going to wait and see for a couple weeks. They've been pushing updates for windows phone so I'm holding out hope that they will do the same for BlackBerry. If not I'm just going to get a Lumia 928.

I would never pick a phone over service. Verizon has the best service in my area and places of travel.

I Dont use Whatsapp but is the app an Android Port in BBW? And it is possible that verizon is blocking that app because of something.

Ugh, I give up already then. I thought we were beyond this by now. One of the reasons I use Android is because I can root and installed the latest anytime I want. Same deal with the iPhone (not jail breaking, but everyone getting updates at the same time).

BlackBerry may be for me, but not on VZW, and no plans on switching carriers. It's nice nowadays though that we at least have a choice of a lot of decent phones on the market. I did enjoy my one day with it, but two hours off the charger and down to 70% after two text messages and a 4 minute call just ins't for me.

still don't get it why blackberry leave software upgrades to the carrier..some carrier did not even bother to pushed updates..like mine, they told me they do not have the latest updates..wtf..maybe it requires some cost to host the software and bandwidth..something like a server they have to setup for the updates..this is not new anyway..have been going like this since OS5..but still be can delete the vendor.xml to force the update from other carrier..

I have personally not had an issue with any sideloaded apps being data blocked on my Verizon Z10. My issue is the same as all of yours... not being on the latest to download through BBW

Verizon needs to get things moving a little quicker. I don't know why they always have to be last to the table. This will her blackberry in the end. I'm down to 35% took it off the charger at 6:30am. Not really heavy use. Txt twitter and cb10 app. And in good service area.

He then said What's App will be available next week. I then followed up asking about the other apps that say they need 10.0.10, giving Kindle as an example, and he didn't really answer, only saying that Kindle should be available.

Can someone with a Verizon Z10 on 10.0.9 check to see if Kindle is available and working in BBW?

Well, this makes my Z10 decision a bit more difficult. I was going to go to best buy today and get 2 new Z10's. I'm currently on at&t but they do not have 4G LTE in my area, where Verizon does. I guess I now have to figure out whether I should switch to Verizon and hold my breath for the newest update (while my battery life sucks) or stick with at&t and not have LTE.

You have to do it from IE. It didn't work as far as updating to the latest. It wants to update my phone, but it's listing the same version that's on it: 10.0.9.422

Well the version-checking by apps is probably a definite issue, because they are just looking at the raw version numbers.

But as I have already stated previously in this thread, given the very high OS version number in the VZW 10.0.9.422 Software release, I wouldn't be surprised if they back-ported some of the 10.0.10.XXX fixes to the 10.0.9 release of their own.

So actually Mr Clewley's comment actually confirms what I had already suspected.

I have the same on my Z10 bought yesterday from VZW.

The OS version is about the highest I've seen for a 10.0.9.x version (anyone see anything higher on 10.0.9.x I'd love to know), so they probably did some back-porting of certain 10.0.10 bugfixes, I'd guess.

My friend and I both have Z10s on Verizon and our battery life isn't that bad. The only problem I'm seeing is that whatsapp is unavailable (Kindle is available).
