Not positive just yet but it looks like Verizon may be limiting networking permissions on sideloaded android apps to wifi only.

Anyone else noticing "network not available" on sideloaded apps ?

My buddy just picked up his VZW BB10 and the side loaded apps are not connecting. I really hope VZW is not intentionally doing this.

I've found Instagram not working at all, and Netflix only works on WiFi. Try connection to WiFI and then using those applications.

Certainly won't surprise me if that's what is happening. Would really stink though.

Oh no. This better not be the case. If so, the Z10 is doomed in the US.

I have not tried to sideload yet but if this is in fact the case that will be immensely disappointing

Me too. I'm so annoyed my international z10 was perfect. Also the android player bottom bar doesn't work.

    Fix this BlackBerry.

Same issue here. I've been on WiFi since I started side loading some apps and saw this post. Turned WiFi off, none of the side loaded apps work now.

Very disappointed, probably going to be returning tomorrow...

Well, this pisses me off. I want this phone bad but not if sideloads don't work. That's a dealbreaker.

Just to throw this out there but these issues could be the result of the older OS that is shipping on the Verizon phones. Just a thought.

Well, sideloading worked on dev kits, so I can't see why that would be an issue.

Here's a little bit of hope. It appears the official BB world apps are not connecting either. Hopefully that means it's a general connection issue that will be addressed by VZW. So much for thorough carry testing by Big Red.

Thank heavens. I mean it sucks for you guys at the moment but it should get resolved quickly. Well, back to my plotting and scheming to get a Z10.

What OS version is on the Verizon Z10? I'm wondering if this might be a 10.0.9.x issue.

I've noticed that needing wifi for apps is a general problem on Verizon onthe with BB10. It seams to be hit or miss. I downloaded the ported versions of both 8tracks and songza downloaded from BlackBerry App World and they do not work unless on wifi. Yet the side loaded instagram app works without wifi.

Not to mention that Verizon hasn't updated the OS to 10.0.10.82 which means no what's app.

I called VZW technical support and they put in a ticket for this. It is unintentional. They think it may be something on their side of the network. In addition, they said they would take it up directly with BlackBerry as well.

Bumping to see if any update on this. My Z10 ships tomorrow and I hope this isn't true or I may have to consider jumping off the VZW ship.

I think vz will take this seriously as they have been giving good support to bb10 so far. I have to think this will be resolved quickly.

I called technical support as well and informed them of the issues. They said they were working on it. But had no idea when the update would be available. On the plus side, the guy I talked with said he was "shocked" how nice the new blackberry was and was thinking about switching back to BlackBerry. Said he had trouble putting the phone down.

Hey everyone I finally got a round to testing this and it worked fine for me on the two apps I side loaded (Google voice, WhatsApp) so could be a Verizon issue
