    I've seen they sell external antennas to get free over the air channels but what app would I run??

    The z10, or any other BlackBerry phone, does not have a TV tuner built in so it will take more than an external antenna and an app to watch TV on one.
    Maybe you mean some TV receiver dongle/stick, in which case you'll probably have to use an app provided by its manufacturer.
    What specific "antenna" are you looking at?
