Turn off LTE?
Just a quick question.
Basically I have absolutely no desire to use LTE. Will I be able to turn off the LTE radio and just use 3G?
Or is the LTE part of the radio going to be powered up even if my SIM etc does not use it?
ThanksAvoids the trends, different is good!

On an AT&T Z10 I see no options to select 2G/3G. Of course, as you said, that could be carrier controlled.
The Mobile Network options seem a bit stripped down from what I recall from older BBs.Thorsten Heins: "We have a clear shot at being the No. 3 platform in the market" - 09/25/2012 - 02-01-2013, 01:02 PM #4

To be fair to them, there can be valid reasons for carriers not allowing somebody to select 2g only as in many areas they may have things setup so that those cells are almost entirely 3g with negligble 2g only and thus they would not want people hogging those parts for no reason.

i would like to know if this is possible too. I would like the option to turn LTE off to save battery. Any UK Z10 owner can you confirm this.

Thanks for the replies

If any UK Z10 owner can confirm would be good
I will be buying unlocked as I hate carrier tie ins!
I'll have to nip into a shop and see otherwise

If you ask AT&T Technical Support to lock you to 2G/2G, they can with a case. If they say they can't, tell them to ask their supervisor about an NSET superlock case to keep you off of LTE for the time being.

I noticed at my work that my mobile network switched from LTE to 4G without me manually changing it. When I'm near places that have LTE I get the icon.

I have LTE disabled on my phone and my battery life skyrocketed. I'm officially leaving it off indefinitely. Not worth the battery crush just to get occasionally faster browsing.

You can shut off 4G LTE and just allow H+ down or even lower if desired. Any Z10 and carrier combination that allows LTE, also features the ability to shut off LTE as well.
Love the comments from posters who surmise, but don't actually own a Z10. Wow.Z10
