Hi guys,

I'm new to blackberry world and tried to use Video Chat option but couldn't.

First, there is no icon or option of Video Chat in my BBm.

Second, I don't know how to add my friends to video chat even though they do have Z10 too.

Third, can't see my friends in Video Chat Contacts and how to enable the video chat option.

I have tried surfing in the net regards this issue and in the forum and can't find the answer or how to go through it, I need your assistance and expertise guys.....

When you have the chat open in bbm, there is an icon in the top right corner. If it is green, then they are available. If it is not, then they are not. If there is nothing, then they are on an old BlackBerry and have not upgraded their bbm to allow voice.

If they are on o/s 7 or below only voice will be available. The upgrade is in app world.

If you are trying to contact another Z10 it works out of the box so I'm not sure what your problem is. Are you sure they are a BBM contact and you're not trying to contact a text contact?

Fahad we know you are using BBM but which country are you in. BBM video and voice is blocked in some countries.

I am afraid no solution, as i assume moving isn't an option. We gotta life with it!
Most annoying is, that we paid higher prie for less performance than ROW

Fahad, I believe it has to do with your carriers there. From what I recall reading, BlackBerry is in talks to allow this service on your networks.

Hey fa had. If it's the carriers blocking the feature then then getting your Z10 unlocked. Maybe it will start working then

the Z10s sold here are unlocked, well at least mine as far as i know. Only thing is they have sold the STL 100-1 instead of -2 maybe this is an issue as well? So i assume we gotta bite that bullit as i dont think there is a way to convert a 100-1 into a 100-2 softwarewise, right?

Just to make sure, sure how to find out they are locked/ unlocked? if locked how to unlock, i recall fm my 8220 that i got it unlocked here over the forum ages ago

Have a friend with unlocked 9900 living in Dubai, can't use BBM voice with him.
Etisalat/Du have blocked it.
If possible, best advice is to move, for this and other reasons. I did, never looked back
Course a workaround may present itself at some point.

Think u should be able to use it over wifi,if you get problems over wifi you can do a search for "Bbm voice fix tutorial" u will find a Youtube video use dat

Well BBM video and voice is blocked here in uae. So there's no chance you could get it working. However if u try a vpn then maybe it would work. I had it working earlier. And yes I am in dubai.

before the swap last week fm 9900 to Z10 my BBM voice was working perfectly fine, also an unlocked 9900 bought here the day it was available ( the one w/o the arab keys on the keyboard)

Well it does work if you use a vpn over wifi. U ll see the video chat icon in the upper right corner.

Not really there is a guide to setup vpn on z10 here in the forums. You will have to pay though for a vpn provider. Witopia works pretty well.

Guys, I found a vpn service provider and wi uni stall the BBM and will download it after using the vpn service...

Will that solve the issue I face??!!!

You don't really need to uninstall bbm. All you need is a vpn
