Firechest can backup to plain text files for Calendar, Contacts and some other aspects. Also, Link will sync with Outlook program on a computer. Or you can sync with the various email clients, gmail, yahoo, outlook, other and presumably sync back to the new device.

Sadly, at least for most people, Outlook sync via BB Link is a catalogue of fail. I don't have a better answer for Outlook sync, wish I did.

    1. Use Fire Chest 'Backup Pro' to backup your contacts and camera/photos folders to SD card.
    2. Move the SD card over to the Samsung.
    3. Unzip the contacts.zip and camera/photos.zip files each into a directory on the SD card.
    4. Import the contacts (vCard files) from their folder into the Samsung address book.
    5. Move the photo's from their folder to wherever you want.

    Hope it helps.

So Firechest Pro is suggested. $5 dollar app.
I wonder if it will actually backup every field from each contact. I tried a few other apps that miss the "address" field for example.
    Anybody knows??

    Yes it will.

You can try it yourself. Download the free version and test it:
