You will download Link later because Link is the solution to your question: The Device Switch option.

How will it work with the 8520? It won't. It's for BB10/PlayBook only.

Just install Link and follow the Device Switch. It IS the answer.

And Link will NOT work with Legacy devices. It is NOT made for Legacy devices. It's made for BB10. Legacy devices use BB Desktop Software. Coincidentally, BB10 devices won't work with BB Desktop Software.

So if you want something to work with the 8520, you'll keep Desktop Software in the PC.

If you want something to work with the Z10, you'll keep Link in the PC.

If you want something to work with a PlayBook, yay for opitions, use either. But my two original stamements are not mutually exclusive.

I don't think you can because as explained by diegonei above BlackBerry 10 devices will work on BlackBerry Link while the legeacy devices will not on the other hand BlackBerry legacy devices will work on blackberry desktop software but the BlackBerry 10 devices will not. So in my opinion you cannot transfer.

You can transfer... Either with the device or a backup from it, and you use Link to get it done.

OP, just give it a try, open Link, hit device switch and follow the step by step...

Just some pointers for those who might be doing the same, using BB Link :

    1. Both phones need to have a SIM in them.
    2. Use the old SIM in the Old phone.
    3. Make sure new phone can log into your Gmail/Yahoo account, this is necessary during the transfer.

    Good Luck, Peace
