    Hi Everyone,
For those who's having problem transferring contacts from BBOS to z10, I found an alternative way to do it. I paired my BB7 device with z10. Then on BB7, selected Transfer contacts by pressing on z10 and it transferred all contacts. It can take some time depending on the number of contacts.

It only transfers 1 contact. Same with Blackberry Link.

Sorry-I misread the initial post-I never paired my Torch-already gone. Yesterday I paired the Z10 to my laptop in Bluetooth and added the Z10 as a Bluetooth device in Windows 8 Devices and Printers. Once paired the following 2 options come up:

    1. Send File which works fine to send a file from your laptop/desktop directly to Z10 by BlueTooth-a message comes up on Z10 asking whether you want to receive the file-file transfers worked to the Z10 without problems.

2nd Option is to "Synchronize PIM Data with Phone Book Access" With this service you can synchronize your contacts and other PIM data between PC and a Bluetooth device. Please click the link to start.

When I click the link you get the opportunity to find a file and save as a PIM Backup file. (*.pim) . What is the intent of this 2nd option using a Bluetooth link to the Z10? If we somehow convert the Outlook data files *.pst/*.ost files will they back up and sync to the Z10 as the 2nd option states?? Is this supposed to work and if so how does it work?? The file transfer option 1 works great!!

I transferred my Contacts last night using the cloud method. Haven't been able to transfer Calendar data as yet.

Why would I do this? If I did, I would've copied everything.

Excuse my ignorance. Could you be more specific. "I paired my BB7 device with z10. Then on BB7, selected Transfer contacts by pressing on z10 and it transferred all contacts. It can take some time depending on the number of contacts." What do you do to pair devices and subsequent steps?

    Ghost,

Details seem lacking so I'll fill you in on the method they are referring to.

Turn blue tooth on on both devices
In blue tooth settings pair the devices
In blue tooth settings on old device hit the blackberry key or menu button and click "Transfer contacts"
    Transfer to your new phone.

    Done

brian4591. Many Thanks. I'll make a print copy for verification when my Z10 arrives in the next couple weeks. I received an email the order was being processed at Rogers. CB and BB should have a video of this exact process posted up on their support sites.

Check the folder Download on his device. Contacts can be there. They need to be open.

FWIW, after updating Z10 to OS 10.0.10.85 I was able to restore my contacts from backup of my 9900 that was made with desktop manager.

Needed to play around with import from SIM but finally got them.

Also check your sim card. They often get put there. In phone book settings, enable sim card contacts.
