This is starting to wear me down - maybe should go back to my Torch! I am one of those people that cannot SEND emails while on WiFi - POP emails - I am on Telus and there is a thread elsewhere about this problem.
For me it is the constant notification that an OS update is ready for downloading - specifically 10.0.10.85 - which I have downloaded twice already. Today I get another notification to download the same OS. Is there a possiblility that this third OS download is any different than the first two or is Telus just being stupid. Help. Very annoying experience on the Z10 so far

How big is the download? if it's small, it could just be the carrier pushing apps or bloatware you may have deleted after the initial install.

Have you been deleting any of the native apps that were on the phone?

This has happened to me to. I am on Telus. Got the original big update, than after it asked me to do it again, but this time the update file size was quite small. It simply reinstalled some of the default apps on the phone that I had already deleted.

Annoying yes, but small hassle. Just deleted the un wanted apps again, and have been ignoring the update notifications.

Maybe Telus has some sort of contractual obligation to push those particular apps.

( but do I really need Dropbox AND Box?)

I don't think it is a specific carrier causing the problems... i'm with vodafone UK and have had this every night at the same time that I did the original update.. i too have deleted some of the native apps..

Thank you for making me feel like I'm not the only one with this problem...

We have two Z10s in the home here. Both had the initial update on Rogers the day when it was released. Both had the 2MB update that most of us are familiar with but the white phone kept getting notices for 20MB update until we did the update over WIFI and then the notices stopped. We were updating that phone over LTE previously as opposed to using WIFI exclusively on the other, I know this should have absolutely nothing to do with it but it is weird how it happened.

Just make a folder and put all of the carrier apps there. That way you won't be bothered by them.

Yeah, don't delete any preloaded native apps otherwise you will get an update to have them reinstalled. Instead, put them into a folder and just stick it on your last screen. I usually do this with all the miscellaneous apps like the clock app, or settings, or other stuff I don't use.

I personally don't think it's too annoying and they're usually apps that are important or widely used. A bit how you can't uninstall Internet Explorer or Notepad from Windows.
