Text message notification won't go away

Hi
When I get new message and read it, the text message notification on the text messages app icon (red star at the text messages app icon) won't go away. When I restart my phone it goes away and I think the problem is fixed but when i get a new message again and i read it, the problem comes again and the red star won't go away on the text messages app icon unless I restart the phone again.

Note that there are no issues with the bell shaped notifications on the side screen when u swipe up from bottom or in the hub. The notifications and the red stars there go away when I read the message but the red star stays only on the text messages app icon.

I am having the same problem. I have tried to long press on the top date to mark prior read. This just randomly started happening for me yesterday. Any know how to fix this? IMG_00000092.jpg

Try going right to the hub and click on messages, that should reset it for you. I think you will see that when you click on txt message app and reply it won't reset the hub notification.

You would think so but no. I have even filtered the hub for unread messages but there are none.

Happened to me once. Just reset the hub by swiping 5 times diagonal right to left starting from the top right of the screen while ur in the hub. Should solve the problem. Thanks to Kevin

I can't believe it but that didn't work either. May be time to reset the Os to factory defaults?

What, the hub did not reset or the notification did not go after the reset of the hub.

It should definitely go away if your reboot the phone or battery pull, that worked on mine

The only solution right now is a reboot or a battery pull, but the thing it comes again when u get another new message and read it, the notification won't go away.

It's like after each new message i get and read i have to reboot my phone, any ideas?

Shoot the phone - that will clear it up! I had the same thing with the Voice Mail notification icon that would not go away - no matter what. I reloaded the OS and didn't do a restore. I manually restored what I needed to.

This is identical to BB7, same notification persists no matter What you do.

What I did was that in the hub I multi selected a text message and an email and deleted them together. After that I noticed this problem. Maybe that is causing the issue. Can anyone try this out and confirm, at the risk of a star on the text message icon. :-)

When the star was there, I did not get another text so I can't say what's gonna happen in that situation. I rebooted and it went away. After that I have Recd a few texts and the star problem is not there.

I'm not sure if this platform is the same as the 7 but I found on my Torch that I had accidentally saved a message. Once I found it and deleted it, the star disappeared. On the 10 I don't see anything on the menus to see saved messages like on my Torch.
