Just revived an ebay Z10 with a smashed screen- �30 for the phone and �15 for screen/frame. Unlocked from T-Mobile for �15. Tesco PAYG SimCard in and settings seem to change. The phone works OK for voice, data and SMS. What I can't figure out is the Tesco shortcuts such as *#10# for credit balance don't work. Have I got to change some settings or do they all do this?

Check the sim card address book. You will find you can import a bunch of addresses off of the Tesco sim. They will be things like the bolt on number, voice mail, etc.

You will need to go through to your account and choose the settings and data plan. Once selected Tesco (O2) will send data to your sim and activate what ever you have selected.

You only need a data plan, not BIS for �5 a month, that's only for legacy OS7 devices.

Thanks for the advice. The numbers were in the contact list but I did re-import them but still get 'invalid contact'

I'm not sure what you mean by 'my account' I'm still trying to set up a new account but it keeps failing at 'looking up contact info' Not surprised with my Lineone.net address but thought it might go with Tiscali. Might have to set up a TalkTalk address. I don't really want to set up email on the phone if I can help it
