All my text messages are still there.

I did notice one thing... my phone was at 85% when it said it had to restart... when the phone restarted it was at 70%.

I checked BX Battery Monitor and "Battery Charger"... both agreed and said 71%.

Interestingly enough, Battery Charger which has a battery life monitor for the FIRST TIME said 100%. The highest I've ever seen it read was 96% and often lately it's said 92% life left in the battery.

I wonder if this OS update changed how the battery level is read by the OS, because my MV didn't drop after the restart, just the battery percentages.

Notice BX battery says Di- charging instead of discharging?

Must mean it's actually charging twice...

Had my phone plugged in when installing the 148 MB update. The download took 8 minutes, the installation took 27 minutes, and the restart took 4 minutes.

All text messages present and accounted for.

got my update notice from Rogers around dinner time Pacific . 151mb downloaded fast installed in about 20 minutes. Then displayed notice that it was "preparing to restart" , this hung for about 3 hours, attempted to restart manually, still hung, pulled battery, reinstalled loaded up and read that new updated was installed successfully. Have yet to notice any changes from first update. No detailed list yet to be found.

It looks like the size of the update may be determined by the apps that have been previously installed. If one of the default apps had been removed i.e. Twitter (2Mb) or FourSquare (3Mb) it wants to load those back in. If you delete them after the update and then check for updates, it will show a small update as being available and presto, the app is back.

Well I had initially posted that all my text messages were gone - I sent a text to my gf shortly after posting that and it turns out that our entire text msg 'thread' came back somehow. I decided to text a few more people that I know I have been in contact with via text message and the same thing happened, each time I sent a text the full history re-populated.

Is anyone having difficulty sending email via Authenticated SMTP (Port 587)? That seems to have broken. You can send via smtp.telus.net on port 25 with no user info if you're on cellular data but if you move to wifi and/or try to send via your ISP's SMTP server on port 587 with your proper account credientials, nada, zip, zilch. Sits there and spins.

I have not experienced any email problems since the update. I'm using IMAP on the Telus network.

Are you using the TELUS server, GMail/Hotmail/Yahoo! or your ISP?

    Use the Telus server.
Is TELUS also your ISP or are you using cellular data? Either way, it should work fine. It seems to be happening with third party ISP mail servers. For spam prevention reasons, most email providers will only allow port 25 access if the sender is connected to their network. That's why most people can't send on port 25 unless they are using their carrier's SMTP server and also connected to cellular data. That's normal. The problem arises when someone tries to use their email provider's server using Authenticated SMTP (to prove their identity to the server). Since the update that function has been hosed.
