Hmm,...I surf the web a lot,...send email attachments all the time,..and when I was buying my Z10 and the Rep was reviewing my data usage, he stated that I had never been over 2GB a month. I was on a 4GB plan,...and now have since upgraded to their 5GB plan.

Ahh the brilliance of T-MOBILE I use about 10 to 15 gigs monthly but admittedly never use wifi anymore, just that my wife provider, ATT, only has DSL in my area and in luck to get 2mbps download speeds. T-Mobile "Faux G" hspa+ in my area pulls down between 9 and 15 mbps routinely. I'm on their unlimited everything plan for $70.00 with NO throttling or overages. I think I would get ocd at this point if I had to limit myself to some imaginary threshold that you can't see coking or know when or why you passed it! Btw I looooove my Z10!

Their warning text are notoriously late by like 1mb! For instance you have a 2gig plan, and they send you the message when you're like at 1,999.00 usage. Next email you get sends ya right over the 'cap'

That hasn't been my experience. I was about 500 MB away from my limit when they sent me a text. Still went over by a gig, though.

Just do *3282# and then wait for a text message to be sent to you.

My phones data was turned off at roughly 4pm. Never touched the phone after that... at midnight while sleep I get "You are nearing your data cap and have used 90% of you Data". Checking my data I showed It already went over. Happened twice. Plus I thought they only text percentage??

Nice app in AppWorld. Announced and discussion in this CB thread. http://forums.crackberry.com/app-ann...y-10-a-790174/ The app polls your OS every hour. Compares very well to the ATT website information. Seems not to be a battery drag. Must be left in an active frame to work.

Unless you guys are streaming lots of video, you shouldn't be coming close to the 5gb limit of our plans. On my last phone, I streamed tons of music and over a 12 month period I only hit 2gb once. Most months were 1gb or less.

As a general note, streaming does use a lot of data, but less than you think. One of the most streamed sources is Netflix or Pandora type apps. I've personally streamed Netflix for 7 hours straight while I waited for a final and didn't hit my cap. That being said, I have AT&T's grandfathered unlimited plan. So when I say cap, I mean the 3GB thresh hold that they now start throttling at. To use 12gb of data he had to be using your phone as a hotspot and streaming videos in HD to a computer. As a person who works in phone retail, the only time I've heard of hitting a data cap that high that quickly was once when a customer came back 3 days after buying a dedicated hotspot and wanted to cancel the plan after he burnt through 80gb of data. Supposedly he had "no idea" how he'd hit that much. HD pr0n tends to do it though.

Onavo sideloaded on the Z10 and seems to work fine...just installed it so not sure about accuracy

UPDATE: it runs fine but doesn't seem like it's counting any data, so fail!
