I know the Z10 comes in 4 different models. From my research, both the TMobile and AT&T versions are the STL 100-3. I fell in the trap with the buying a TMobile Bold 9900 for use outside the US (Digicel Antigua) and it does not pick up my carrier's 3G/4G only EDGE. I was told the AT&T version would've. I don't want to fall in that trap again with the Z10. Im confused now as both Z10's are STL 100-3. What's the difference between AT&T's and TMobile's Z10's?

From what I read on the forums the two are the exact same but att has one band removed but only through software. If you insert a tmobile sim it will activate all bands required for tmobile.

Yes, both models are the same with the exception that the AT&T model has the AWS bands software locked; to be able to use it on TMobile, you would need to have it unlocked. Unlocking an AT&T Z10 would then render it the same as the Tmobile model.

Hi all, thanks for your responses. So I guess technically they both are the same and should work fine with my carrier. Oddly enough, the TMo Z10's are noticeably cheaper on eBay which had me raise an eyebrow.

The att model has the tmobile bands removed for both 3G and HSPA plus. You will only get Edge on the att version.
I know because I unlocked an att version and tried it on tmobile and only got Edge.

The T-Mobile version works with att fully when unlocked. I also tested that myself.

The Tmobile version is technically better.
