While on the Metro here in DC, I noticed that I now have LTE service on T-Mobile.

I haven't had a chance to check because I get terrible service where I work, but I'll report what I get this evening.

Looking forward to hearing about this.
Can you also choose any one of the above networks? Or is it LTE and then whatever else is available? Can you turn off LTE/HSPA+ and keep only UMTS?

Okay this is with 3 bars of LTE

I've never had LTE before so I don't know what is typical.

I'm not able to have only UMTS, it has to have either HSPA+ or LTE enabled with it.

Ok. I got 4 bars when I left the station.

I think those are really nice speeds. I get similar speeds on my home Internet.

The further into the suburbs I got the better the signal strength was.

Thank you so much, it is a shame that it is basically 1G or 2G+others. No 2G or 3G alone, I just hope phone does not waste battery if LTE is not available in the area by keeping it on. Maybe check periodically.

It is not typical, yours is actually pretty fast!

Yeah just having the LTE option on eats up the battery pretty good. I don't get LTE where I work, but getting home I only had 15% left when I usually have 40 - 45% left.

Can you post a screen when you got LTE on? I want to know if you get LTE next to 4G on the top

I'm in L.A. and have my network set to LTE/HSPA+/UMTS/GSM... but T-Mobile hasn't launched their LTE here yet... should I turn it down to another network selection? I only have "4G" right now..

Awesome, then the guy at T-Mobile lied to me, he said I had LTE even though it only showed 4G, thanks though and here is my speed without LTE, can't wait for it to become available in my area!
