So I made the purchase of a Z10 last week. For the first few days I did not transfer my sim over and just played with the features over wifi. During this the battery was holding up well. On Thursday I added the sim and did the update to 2141 via Link. Since then the battery is lasting about 8hrs from 100% with minimal to no usage.

I do not have a data plan, wifi turned off, no android apps installed and no apps running in the background. I had a facebook and email account set up in hub. I've done a couple tests the last two nights. Charged the phone to 100% and left unplugged on standby. Wifi off only carrier connection and no apps. In the morning I go to wake the phone and battery is at 0%. Looking at device monitor System seems to have been very active.

Following this I tried a factory reset and this time did not set up any accounts in the hub. Throughout the day the drain continued.

Last night I put it in Airplane mode and again let it go on standby at 100%. 9.5hrs later the phone is at 0% with a very high system usage.

Battery Guru says my battery is at 100% health, taskmanager shows nothing running. I have pulled the battery while plugged in and pulled and left out for 30m+.

Any ideas would be appreciated as in its current state it is pretty frustrating.

    Thanks!

Do you use any SD card? I have read post about System scanning large SD card full of small files for indexing purpose continuously and causes the battery drain in 10.2.1.

I am on .2012 and have similar problem but not as severe as your case. For me, System goes nuts at 50-80% CPU only for a period of time for about 4-5 hours after rebooting and then System stabilizes to 5-10% CPU.

Do you have dropbox or box or any cloud servies logged in? I found this to be a huge drain when I first got my Z10 last year, it was constantly syncing with the cloud (checking, re-checking). As well as the 64 Gig microSD Card and the email accounts all syncing up for the first little while. I consistently get 12-16 hours now with regular use (200 or so emails a day, BBM every few minutes, CB10 a couple other apps running intermittently).

I have an 8GB SD installed. It only has 800MB used on it though. I will give it a pull and see if it makes any difference.

No cloud services and Dropbox not even installed. At the moment I do not have any accounts set up on it. The only thing it should be doing is calls and texts. Puzzling how it can continue to drain on airplane mode with all radios off.

It can be your SD card, but if the phone still has issues without the SD card, then I would look to your sim card. I would go to where you purchased the Z10 and get a new sim card.

Well I pulled the SD and the rate of decline continued. Tried removing the sim card and let the phone sit with only Battery Guru running, no wifi and still lost about 10%/hour while sitting in standby.

Although the battery could be the cause, the continued high system usage may point more towards the phone itself. Will try a battery first though and see.

My phone is going nuts since the last update. I've updated Thursday and since then my battery is draining quickly. I have no SD card, no dropbox, location off, only the mobile network and internet on. If I turn off my data services, my phone can stay on for 4 hours with just 4% battery.
And one more thing : it gets very hot, even if it's in my purse.

I did a few separate tests in my case with .2012: Removing all Android apps, removing SD card and none made a difference. System will go nuts after the phone is restarted for about an hour (not 4-5 hours as I indicated earlier) consuming CPU in the range of 50-80%. After that System will cool down and become normal consuming 5-20% CPU. So when I booted up at 95% battery level, by the time System calms down, I am down to 75% battery. So System used up 20% of my battery juice to for its one hour of being "busy" doing things. Not happy about this but tolerable I suppose. I do not have random reboot problem of any kind, it is just that I like to swap battery around when one battery goes low.

Similar thing happened to my Z10 last week. The CPU was going crazy with no apps running, and by crazy I mean it was over 110%. A hard reset fixed it for me.

I'd show my screenshots, but I actually deleted them about 20 minutes ago, heh.

Had the same issue a few weeks ago. Did a secmultiwipe and installed the latest leak. Since then battery life is awesome again. 14-16 hours on heavy usage without any problem. Same threat for the Q results in 30 hours plus.

Phone seems to have packed it in. Did another wipe and while in the process of doing the initial setup the screen froze and slowly pixilated out. Will not come to life at all. Connected to a power source and no red light. If I pull the battery while connected the light will come on for a few seconds and that is it. Will not recognize via USB.

Well 5 days has been a very short run with this phone.

What is this secmultiwipe? Did you restore your backup afterwards?

Having same issue - after 10.2 update battery is draining in 4-5 hours with little or no use. PIM activity appears to be off the chart. Wiped phone, reinstalled same issue - seems to be an issue with the latest update. Beware!

Multiwipe is a little tool that does a multiple wipe and erases the whole system including the os. You can find it in the leaks department. After that you flash a new os and you're free to do a backup if you need to.

Oh wow. My z10 did the same thing Monday during work! I was just on the phone for 2 minutes and bam! dead battery. I did a battery pull after that and when I got home I charged it. It was 84% of the system that drained it. So far it hasn't happened since the pull.

Tried it for three nights, unplugged at 12 and wifi was on:
    At 8 AM
    85% first day
    86% second
    85% third (Pretty consistent )

I think your wifi signal should be weak, not sure though if that can be a cause.
