I had an unlocked at& t blackberry z10 and recently the phone dropped and cracked the phone.
I purchased a replacement factory unlocked blackberry z10 with no carrier brand from ebay.

I was able to back up the old data from the z10 however the desktop information is saying that the new phone is not on the same version and needs to be updated

I am super sad because all updates are done on the phone and the desktop and I can not transfer or retrieve my data..

    Can you please help...please

Try updating the phone before trying to restore the data. Enter your SIM and check for updates and download the update. Try restoring post the update and it should go through

When I got the phone I did a full update.

I also went in on the options to check for updates as well as connecting the phone to the computer and checking the desktop for updates.

Please confirm that if the older device also had the same OS version on it.
You could try Darcy's tools that you can find on Friday CrackBerry forums to do the restore between different versions.

If you upgrade the new phone to one of the first 10.2 leaks you should be able to upgrade from the version you have to that, hopefully anyway. Or another way to try it is to load each consecutive leak and try a restore, just logically go through it, tedious I know but better than the alternative.

Any one else have any ideas? As in is there a way for her to check what version was backed up and then bring her new phone to that version? Or does she have to do the step by step upgrade to the leaks.

One question Melissa do you recall if you upgraded to the latest carrier release on the returned phone? I know it would be a guess but perhaps you can downgrade with an older leak as well

Sorry if this is long just trying to get some info

Time for all of us to become detectives

Did you upgrade using the carrier upgrade or through a leak on either phone?

Make sure you have signed into your blackberry id on your phone before connecting it to your computer. I have had the same problem before and this solved it.

A Verizon phone will not work on T-Mobile.
When was the last time you had updated your old phone.

Just curious. You had an unlocked phone on at&t. Was this an at&t branded phone that was unlocked? Also, could you check please: Settings > about. Look at "Model number" What does it say? For instance, my phone is an SLT100-3. What is yours?
