Hi guys. Had a q10 for a few months now which i love, but i do miss the bigger screen for reading news and such. This is Why im Switching to a z10 instead. Obviously read alot about the bad battery, so could you guys link me to a few bigger capacity batteries that you guys are happy with using?

Don't want to get frustrated about the battery from the get go and regret my decision

    Thanks!

I don't know about larger batteries, but I use the BlackBerry Charger and Battery bundle. It's a charger and spare battery that you swap into your device. I use my device very heavily, and this gets me through my day.

The charger bundle is a must have with the z10. As long as one battery is charging you shouldn't have an issue.

The charger bundle also allows the "combo" to plug into the charging port on the z10 if you don't want to have to turn off the z10, replace the battery and restart. It can be somewhat clumsy to use but works.

From what I have seen throughout this forum is that the battery issue has been with the STL100-1 model of Z10. I haven't had an issue with my STL100-3 Z10 while reading on the Kobo e-reader app.

There isn't any bigger capacity battery on the market for Z10 unless you want to change the back cover. That will make the phone bulkier and heavier. If you don't mind it then do yourself a favour and type 4500 in the search box.
Having said that there is no issue with the stock battery. I get regularly 2 days worth of use. If you don't use your phone for silly things like playing games or watching hd movies than you should be fine.

It's my first day with z10. I have the STL100-1. I was so worried it will just last like 5 hrs like many people complained because this model as I've read had battery problems . Surprisingly it lasted 10hrs with 20% remaining that will last 2hrs.Few emails, skype(about 15mins;this phone don't heat up like my Q10 on Skype) ,bbm, about 3 hrs wifi and the rest was on 3G, browsing CB for 30 mins. My brightness was at 40% but if reading outside I turned the brightness up.

I just hope I will continue to get a good battery life. It's not so bad for me. My Q10 last like 15hrs-20hrs.

First of all, congratulations of switching to a great device. Secondly, glad the battery life is good for you. I would consider myself to be a heavy user of my Z10, so I have picked up the battery charger bundle. I now do not have to worry about running out of power at any time. When my battery gets down to about 20%, I will just switch out the battery. It's nice not having to be a wall hugger.

I've been running 10.3 on my Z10 and Q10 for a while now. Seems they have found some battery hog in the earlier software versions and fixed it. Batterylife is way better for me now. So it will get even better.

How can you be horrible at typing with the z10? Keep all the predictive texts and auto correct on. It's really effortless to type. You can type a bunch of mumbo-jumbo and it will correct it into the right sentence

I have a STL100-3 and my battery will last 4 hrs on a good day. I do not play games nor do I watch videos if I'm not close to an outlet. The battery issue is very frustrating.

    Hey OP

I too switched from a Q10 to a Z10. And while the battery life is definitely shorter, it is still enough to last for around 15 hours on an average usage.

First give a few weeks with the original battery to see if you really need the bigger battery.

    ALSO

Please keep in mind that it can take up to two weeks for the battery life to settle if you are getting a new phone.

I bought an Anker Astro Pro with 20,000mAh. You can buy smaller capacity ones that are a little more reasonable in size.

Get the Z30 instead of the Z10. That way you get the bigger screen and an amazing battery. Sure, it costs a bit more, but the experience of the device is definitely worth it.
