So I'm on vacation now with my T-Mobile Z10 and I've noticed that in general my phone drains here crazy fast compared to how it was in the US. If I connect to WiFi to keep it from pulling data over the cell network it gets better but it seems like it uses disproportionately more power overseas to pull data down over hspa or 3g. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a logical explanation for this like the phone not being optimized for these frequencies?

Do you have a weak network signal? That could be causing it. Optimization for frequencies isn't a thing really--either the bands are in there or they aren't.

Nope usually quite good signal. This is why it's perplexing.

Edit: I'll usually see about 6 hours before I get down to where I need to swap. Back home I'd see between 6 and 14 depending on usage on any given day. But it's pretty consistently draining. System monitor attributes it to PIM services. Odd.
