Ok, had to do a double take on this, I suspect AT&T is playing some frequency mapping games here. That said, my AT&T STL100-3 Z10 gets great LTE in my area, in the past I've peeked at the escreens and have seen band 17, or band 4 in use. But today I noticed this interesting status, in my semi-rural area where I live:





WTH is band 19? And how does my STL100-3 receive it? I have a theory, I suspect that AT&T is remapping some 3G spectrum for use as LTE, because from what I found online, band 19 is in the 850MHz range. Note that the second image (where I scrolled up) shows the MNC/MCC for AT&T, confirming that this is an AT&T LTE cell.

That seems to be a common (incorrect) reading on AT&T units. You're most likely band 17. To get an accurate reading, go to this page and enter your EARFCN# and hit the 'Frequency...' button.

I wonder why this happens though, and only with AT&T units...

Oh...and there's the small matter of North American BB10 phones not having LTE band 19...or any 800 MHz LTE band for that matter.

As I lay here in bed I'm thinking. "Wait a minute. When to I really need LTE". At home and in the office I'm on wifi in the car I'm either streaming Pandora or using waze. neither are high bandwidth so what do I need the extra speed for. Hsp+ is what I had before and it was fine. So if your thinking about a z30 ask yourself the same question

Ps I am also available for an upgrade so if something else comes along it won't cost me much to get it.
