My budget will not allow me getting a z30.
Thinking about the z10, how is it compared to a moto x?

    Thanks

I would say... look at your budget and your needs out of a smartphone.

My opinion... If you are a social user and all then the MOTO will do, though the Z10 is no less for social apps usage. The Z10 has a lot of social apps you can download from BBWorld and after you sideload SNAP. The only problem with the Z10 is the battery life. It is really -really crappy. The camera quality is just fine.

Really? If your battery is 2 years old, then probably.

There is no answer to this question before you share what you'll be using the device for. One is a high quality BB10 device, other is an entry-level Android. No direct comparison between the two.

I have a new Z10 for two months now and it is great! In my opinion far better than Android. I am running the latest 10.3.1 leak and battery life is way way better than it was on 10.2.1 OS. (if you don't want to install a leak, official os release is not far away)

As told, you can install Snap and with OS 10.3.1 comes the Amazon store from which you can also download Android apps.

No point to buy BB10 device with idea to run Android apps. Moto X will run it's native apps much better. BB10 is better for communications, for everything else newer hardware Android device will be a better choice.

I forgot to clarify the moto x is the 2013 version.
I purchased a Q10, but thinking I would like more screen space.

What you'll be using the phone for? If you're OK with opening different apps for your messages, emails, calls, facebook, twitter, etc., then definitely go for Android. Main BB10 advantage is the HUB - all communications in one place, accessible from every screen or app. Is this what you're looking for?

I can see the Z10 being supported for a bit longer since it is basically the same internals as the Classic that just launched this month. Moto X 2013 edition will be supported for a bit longer but not too sure. Both devices are good options, the Z10 is a communication machine with easily the best virtual keyboard on any touchscreen device (Z30/3 aside). The Moto X will give you a crap ton of apps, if thats your thing. You said you were very social and BB still doesnt have a few big name social apps on their platform natively (instagram, snapchat, vine, etc). There are work arounds to get them on the device, some with 3rd party support and others via android port. I have been using my Z10 for a long time and only gripe is the ****ty battery life. I NEED to carry a spare battery to swap when the other runs out and then bring them home at the end of the day to charge them up for the next day. I had a Z30 and if you can somehow manage to get one of those i would highly recommend it, the screen is a bit less crisp than the Z10 but the device is a workhorse. Only reason i have dont have one is the passport, which i am in pursuit of currently.

As those pointed, it comes down to what you use the phone for and how you use it.
There are many choices for entry- mid- level Android phones but most of them have the same battery issue, imo, they do not last the day under heavy usage.

If you like to try out new games and apps that comes out every other week, get an android.

Emails and communications are fine on Android, but i have a better experience with BlackBerry 10 in this area.

What I also like about BlackBerry is that we still get OS updates despite it being a old model. I don't see this level of support in Android. I hope this continues in BlackBerry.

I am using both a BlackBerry and Android currently, I can't part with either. Android has apps which I adore and use frequently, I have yet discover those comparable apps in BlackBerry.

Yes well worth the money, I have had one since it launch. Battery is its only downfall. But you can always buy a battery pack, which I have and works quite well, no need to charge phone if it needs to be charged, just swap out battery and your good to go.

I only had my Z10 for a year and I found the battery to be pretty bad. It was better than my iPhone 4s, but doesn't come anywhere close to the Z30.

That being said, getting any BB10 device is better than any Android or iOS phone, so I would suggest the Z10 if you want a virtual keyboard or the Q10 if you want and a physical keyboard. If you can spare a few extra dollars the Z30 is easily the best choice for a virtual keyboard though.

I have no issue with mine I have an extra battery and I have the apps I need
But I do agree the only issue is the battery but having a few spares is a good idea but again majority of smart phones battery life is not that great
My next phone I am not sure I am waiting if BlackBerry will release the next touch screen after the z30

I will tell you the smartphones comparing to z10...
    1. Lumia 730 or upcoming 1330
Camera quality and display are better than z10 but the built in quality of z10is much better and even there are very less apps in lumia.

    2. HTC desire 816
Here again display is much better than z10 and it is an android device so if you want all android apps to run than it will be better.

    3. Motorola X
One thing very nice about it is the voice assistant. If you like very much to talk with the phone than it will be better.

    4. Lenovo Vibe X2
If you want high specs phone than it will be definitely good. It has a processor comparable to snapdragon 800and 1080p resolution.

These are the mobiles I would suggest. It is totally up to your choice of what to use. And if you take z10 than I would recommend a portable charger.
