Default Still no OS update from EE in the UK

Has anyone heard from EE regarding the OS update. No one I have managed to speak to knows anything
Why is it not available on Blackberry's website as a software download? Are the carriers tweaks that important?

I'm in the same boat as you, we were the first to get the phone but nearly the last to get the update... strange how it's listed on the Orange Web site tho......

It's frustrating and I feel your pain!

I keep hitting the Check for updates button but nothing, fingers crossed it is soon.

I too noticed the os version on the website.

Go to Tesco and buy a PAYG Vodafone SIM for 0,99 GBP. That will allow you to upgrade the firmware.

Only if you are already unlocked, otherwise the Vodafone sim swap doesn't work.

WTF is going on with EE. Still no update and O2 pushed it yesterday.

I have a locked EE handset and under EE terms I cannot get the MEP code until I've owned the handset for 6 months.
This will also be the case every time you upgrade on EE. Have to have the handset 6 months then pay 20 for the MEP.

I tried tweeting their wonderfully useful Orange helpers yesterday who said no idea, check the website. Getting ridiculous now

I've stalked EE by every social media and customer service channel available and the best answer yet is it'll be out within a week.
Although they have told me that same line every day this week so not sure where to start counting the week.

Yeah, I've done pretty much the same. Why they can't just release the update and push MyEE after I don't know

Got a reply today from T-Mobile UK on twitter. Pretty vague answer.
'no update as yet. We will be advised close to the release date'
Yeh so when's the release date?

It amazes me how orange and EE are lagging behind with the update. Didn't they know that the Z10 was coming and start developing their applications, which incidentally are rubbish anyway in advance of public release!

I've been checking every hour for the update thinking, maybe this time, but it never comes.

I hope that some bright spark can develop a piece of software that tricks BlackBerry link into thinking the Z10 is from another carrier or even the online update service for that matter.

I upgraded during my contract and don't have the unlock restrictions of 6 months and have requested my unlock code. Once it arrives, it will be happy days but until then, I'll keep hitting the button.

It's a joke, to be honest. Orange are seriously sand bagging on this update just to push their myEE app out at the same time.

Team that with the fact that .348 already has issues and it becomes even more frustrating.

Added this to a new post thinking the more the better but I doubt any EE or orange employees have internet!

'Just spoke to customer services at Orange and asked about the update. I was told that Orange didn't push the update but BlackBerry would.

I explained that other carriers had already pushed the update and it wasn't BlackBerry that was responsible for sending the update. After an uncomfortable silence, all I was told was that there was no information about any up coming os update and to keep checking the BlackBerry website!

...and meanwhile EE and orange show the Z10 shipping with the 10.0.10.90 os on their website?!

The customer service team don't seem to have any idea. Very annoying. '

Guys have you checked the phones not already unlocked? Settings>security>sim card - down the bottom it will tell you if your unlocked. I am and mines on contract from EE/Orange. I got a Vodafone sim for free from vodafones website and I'm rocking the update!

If this MyEE app is an android port they should be ashamed of this hold up all the more.

This is ridiculous now, they can roll out the My EE app when it's ready instead of making us wait for a much needed OS update! If they didn't charge to unlock my phone I would have the update by now!

Totally dire customer support from Orange. I've tried calling, tweeting etc. But all I get back is we will release the update as soon as possible.

As I had a new contract with my new phone I can't even use the Vodafone trick. Seriously unhappy.

So I decided to find out whats going on with T-mobile/EE once again and this time it wasn't a reply on my time line but rather a private message. Found that a bit strange. Anyway this is what was said...'Hi Sanj, unfortunately, we don’t receive any news on software updates until they are released on the network.'
You what?? Im sorry but I was certain that they are the network??
