Not at all! In fact, with 2228 I was so happy that standby battery usage was WAYYYYY down from other OSes.HTTR FOREVER I'll Always Be Ramblin' in Rehab: Where the real Bold addicts are!

Well, if it gets "caught up" in some retrieval of email or text or if you are in a low signal area it would be possible. Just because it is locked does not mean it is not doing something. You can open Device Manager and see what is or has been "eating" the battery or chomping on the cpu and then investigate where that might point.

Yap, you got one here. It's so confusing, means, sometimes battery will go down for just 5-7% over night and sometimes for over 20%. I've got two emails and a fb acc. Not any such app that consumes battery when not in use, just few android games and thats it.

Usually mine's fine. But there are occasions when my device suddenly heats up, and when I check the device monitor, the PIM services is the one chewing up the battery!
Anyone experience this before?? It happens almost randomly too.. and goes on for a good maybe 10 mins?

Barely any battery drain when in standby. Over night after 8 hrs my battery drains approx. 6%.
Are any apps that are running in the background that you don't know about because i had the same problem a few months ago. I was getting really bad battery drain on standby and worse when I was using the phone. I did a process of elimination on my apps by deleting the ones I thought might cause battery drain. For me it was battery lover app. After an update it started from there. Removed it and my battery went back to normal again. It can be something as simple as that, an app doing something funny in the background and consuming battery life.
