I know speed dial isn't available on the Z10 but I discovered that the keyboard can be brought up on the home screen. Would it be possible for BlackBerry to incorporate speed dial function to that, or for that matter other keyboard shortcuts like universal search? Are they working on it?

Speed dial is available on the Z10??, its within the phone app at the top.

As for keyboard shortcuts??, who knows for sure. Maybe they will put it in a future update for the Z10 but at the moment, only the Q10 has keyboard shortcuts. If im not mistaken im pretty sure i read somewhere that BB might supercharge the universal search within the Z10 at some point. But at the moment, if i open up the search i cant make a call ie if i type call **** from my contacts it will not work but i can search a contacts name and it will bring up any emails, bbms or pictures of that person.

I hate speedial: can't remember past 4 or 5 entries. On my 9900 I use QuickLaunch's menuing system and trackpad and some minimal thumbstrokes to get to as all my number. Ain't happening on BB10, hence my reluctance fix what's not broken for me.
