If you have the issue of not being able to see the names of your contact just the numbers within whatsapp do this:

Go to your actual contact. Click the three dots on the right and click add to sim.

Then go to whatsapp and refresh both contacts and favs.


This worked for me, hope it helps.

Thank you very much. This will work for a limited number of contacts, and also for one number to one name. Those of us with multiple names/numbers per contact, and potentially thousands of contacts, this will be difficult. I am hoping that future updates to WhatsApp will allow full contact synchronization, even those aggregated from other services.

Whatsapp now has a new update. It fixes the contacts bug. Please install the latest update.

I did. It did not solve the contact issue on my phone until I did this.

I don't see Add to SIM. My Z10 is connected to a BES, does that make a difference?

When I am in a contact and I click the three dots I see:
Edit
Add As Favorite (SIC for a Canadian and most English speakers)
