Default Slow WIFI on my Z10

I am loving my Rogers Z10 and on 4G LTE all is fine but I have notice that when on WIFI I have issues :

    1. Apps load very slow or get stuck
    2. You Tube won't work - just hangs
    3. Web works but you can tell there more hang time than there should be

Zero issues with my new router on my PC/Playbook/iPad and N7.

Is anyone else having issues with WIFI or is it maybe just an issue with my handset? THX

Nope, all good on my side.
    Nokia 3310> Nokia 8210> Nokia 1110> Nokia 7610> Nokia N95> iPhone 3G> Nokia N900> Blackberry 9700> Blackberry 9900 White> Blackberry Z10

I believed in Blackberry Z10 and now a proud owner of it

For all those people who try to talk about how good their phone or OS is, listen, if they were so 'amazing' then I would have left BB long ago and CB would be dead by now. Point is not that I believe I made the best choice among all available phones but I made a choice which serves me best!!!

He said his LTE is fine too, he was asking about the WiFi.
    @koool1. Wish I could help, but didn't get a Z10 yet.

Read my sentence again.. I SAID " Mine is pretty fast!. Tested it with LTE it is up to par as LTE speeds for me."

That means my Wifi works just fine & i TESTED it with LTE. The speeds on WiFi i get are higher or same as LTE. This means my WiFi is working properly..

Thanks - I may pop into Rogers. They seemed to have issues there also when updating the OS for me.

Hmm go to the Rogers store & see what they can do. If they can get you a device & swap that with another Z10, that would be great!

I'll keep fiddling with it. You Tube seems ok now but apps just keep hanging.

Are you able to load apps ok on wifi?

My Z10 wifi sucks. I leave wifi off and use the internet. On wifi ill go no notifications on facebook and the phone will go in sleepmode before the notifications show up. My playbook and laptop and my old torch are faster. Its embarassing trying to show the speed of myZ10 when even google responces are delayed on wifi.

I seem to have issues with MY wi-fi at home on my Z10. I can stream from the youtube desktop site "ok", but anytime I download from BB World it's horrid (~100 KB/s) If I'm on my corporate wi-fi at work I get nice fast downloads.

Are there some known do's and don'ts when it comes to router settings and Z10's? My Z10 also drops my home wi-fi network and can't find it for periods of time....just like my playbook.

Thats a neat trick to surf the internet thru the z10 without having wifi on. you are saying that BT is faster than your wifi?? Odd. BTW all my z10's have blazing fast wifi speeds.

Wifi is slow for me too... took me forever to download a 25mb game

    Edit:
and just to be clear it is not my internet connection... I have a 25mb cable connection. Everything else works fine on it...my old 9810, my playbook, my ps3...but my z10 does not.

I am having the same issues. Internet is fast on the network, as soon as I go WIFI only it is very slow. I have tested it against
my old 9800 on the same connection. My 9800 loaded 3 pages + a youtube video before the z10 loaded one page.

Have you tried 'forgetting' the network and adding it back on again?

Also check the security level you've set up on your new router.. usually people use WPA2...

    All the best.

I've have th exact same problem with my Z10. It was slow on wifi while all other devices wirelessly connected to my router were speedy as expected. I reset my router et voila!

I remember I had the same issue with the Playbook. When they upgraded to version 2 it was resolved. Maybe when we get 10.1 for the Z10 the same will happen.

Ok I think I figured it out. It fixed mine anyways. I think it has to do with dual band routers. If you go into your connection settings and switch from dual band to either 2.5 or 5 depending on if its an option it should fix the slow wi-fi issue. It did with mine anyways.

Same problem here. Seems when I'm using the web browser it is ok but any apps or BlackBerry world using Wifi it goes slow. I do remember the same issue on the PB. Tried changing from dual to 2.5 or 5 and it made no difference. Hopefully it will get resolved in 10.1
