    Default Securtiy Wipe Issue

So I got the Z10 on the first day off release in Canada. Had all sorts of problems with transferring contacts over from my 9800 so finally I got fed up and did a security wipe and start from scratch, reentering all my contacts manually. BUT after doing a security wipe 3 times on the phone there is STILL remnants of old data on it (few contacts, BB id, etc.)

So if your selling your phone just be cautions and don't assume security wipe has wiped it out.

    Has anyone else seen this?

Are you sure some of those contacts aren't stored on your SIM card, you can verify this by opening the contacts app and swiping down form top and hit settings, they show only SIM card contacts to see, if that is the case then there is the reason why you still see them after a security wipe
Before BB10 = BIS sucks! - After BB10 = BIS is the greatest thing BlackBerry ever had
Before BB10 = BlackBerry OS sucks! - After BB10 = Bring back BBOS.
Why can't we make our minds up?

Try and do a restore from OS in BB link, not restore like normal but load the entire OS again... as that should wipe it all clean for sure, but yeah a security wipe should of done it too, but apparently its bugged too like some other software related issues.

Damn i wished BB would have tested thsi phone a little more before reeasing it to the public.

I want one damn it as i sold my galaxy s3 tonight....... but wow i seeing some issues posted that is making me backing away a bit.

You know I am not totally sure about that. At this point I just said screw it an started to reload everything. I do know it was a new SIM card and I have never selected copy contacts to SIM. Each time I did a wipe it seemed there were less contacts showing. Also I never had to re enter my bb id after the wipe.

Just seems odd and I thought I would bring it up so people could verify for themselves. I have been a BB user for 6 years now but I have to admit that going to the Z10 has been a learning curve.

IMO I wouldn't be discouraged by the few glitches that have come up (although I feel it was ridiculous that the Z10 could not import contacts from older BB's, this so far is the only thing I have been VERY frustrated by). I have been really liking the phone so far and some of the things that annoyed me at the start I have found out its just a setting to be changed and all is good. New OS with new ways to do things. More I use it and get used to it the more I like it.

Also remember that 90% of the people posting right now are doing it because this is a good place for answers. Don't assume everyone is frustrated.

I got the Z10 to replace my Nexus 4, and I'm VERY satisfied. Don't be so quick to judge from this forum. I haven't experienced 99% of the problems here, and neither have most people. Most people actually come here BECAUSE they have a problem.
