    Post Sealed Boxes?

Are carriers selling BlackBerry Z10 units in sealed boxes?

    ... yes?

When I got my phone from my carrier "O2", it was sealed, they opened the box in front of me to check the contents

Depends. If it's done via the net then yes. However I got mine in a shop and the sales guy opened my box. So there could be unsealed units floating around.

The boxes are sealed. But when the salesman activates your phone, he needs to open the box up.

Although I hear some US carriers buy their Z10's from coal smugglers in the shady northwest. So those probably aren't sealed

It should be sealed...the phone should have a piece of protective plastic on the front and back also.

That's what happened to me with phones4u. The sales rep brought a phone to me that had its seal broken. I asked for a sealed unit because you never know if the unsealed one is a defective or returned unit. He then brought me a sealed unit and opened it in front of me. Might sound fussy but I have had a returned unit given to me before that had a screen defect.

If your getting the phone from a reputable online source it should be sealed. If it is unsealed then query it. If your getting it from say ebay then expect it to be open. A lot of z10's are been sold to the US from here in the UK by places like ebay so they will probably be open.

I also insist on getting a sealed box and taking the unit for activation at the office or at home. The box of my BlackBerry Bold 9900 was sealed. But the boxes of the last phone that I purchased from AT&T (a Samsung Galaxy Note) were not sealed by the manufacturer.

Every BlackBerry smartphone that I have bought over the years has been in a sealed box and activated at the wireless carrier's outlet. I have never bought an open box smartphone but if I ever do I would expect a 25% discount even when the contents indicate a never used device.

Verizon's will come in a sealed box because once I unseal the box, there is a $35 restocking fee if I return it within 14 days.

I'm usually disappointed when I encounter a sealed box, but not in this case.
