    Anyone else want this?

I am constantly shutting off my screen to save battery power.

It'd be nice to have a gesture that is as intuitive as the rest of the OS right?

nope, i'd be annoyed if i was working on something and did a stupid gesture to lock my screen. At that notion, a complicated gesture is also a pain

Maybe a gesture, or an option in the pull down menu to lock the phone. But something in addition to press and hold the top button and then press the lock screen option.

I would like it as long as it was a deliberate gestures that wouldn't be accidentally swipped.

Maybe double swipe from top bezel. It's so close to going to a phone that has no physical buttons.

Maybe a double swipe from the bottom bezel so that you don't open the home screen's drop down menu

You just hit a button to turn off display, I don't get how it's a big deal to introduce more gestures

Considering that you don't HAVE to swipe from the top to open settings (just touch the clock) a gesture of swiping down or down then up from the top would be nice.

".....I thought to myself....." Yes, we all do that.

I think a long swipe from the top bezel to the bottom bezel would be fine, like how beside mode is activated from the lock screen. I can't see that getting in the way of the settings at all, at least in the way I swipe down for them.

    Gesture should be an "L"

Swipe down then to the right

It would really make sense to have the lock option in the pull down menu.

What would make real sense and BlackBerry 10 more powerful is the ability to customise the options available in the pull down menu.

When your phone is lying on the table, you have to grab it to press the button, while with the lock gesture you may avoid this. Plus, for example, my hands are not so big, and it is very uncomfortable to stretch my fingers for the power button.

They put a hub and text message icon in the home screen eventhough you can do it with gestures, so why not a lock screen icon?

Valid point. Is there a way we can create a short cut icon for feature in BlackBerry 10, just like a shortcut for webpages

You can set the lock screen to come on from a minimum of 10 seconds after using the phone, so that could help here if used.

    Whoosh! Z10 in action!
