Even looks like an unhappy face haha.
But impressive that the phone is in one piece still. Heavy duty quality it seems.

It was in my back pocket (with the Transform Shell) when I slipped and fell on some icy stairs. Oddly, both the Transform Shell and the battery door didn't break. They don't even show any signs of stress — no bends, creases, cracks, nothing.

I also injured my back, which has since healed (this was about two weeks ago). However, my wallet is still smarting.

I should also note that the process to restore the data from my backup to the second Z10 was fraught with errors and problems — restoring my contacts especially was a maddening experience that somehow ended up with numerous blank entries in the Contacts app.

And my second Z10 has the dreaded, unremovable screen smudges/spots/residue whereas my first one did not.

Happy with the Z10 overall, just had some bad luck so far.

Always carry your smartphone in a front pocket of your jacket, shirt or in some cases pants. You rarely fall face down with full force since you'll instinctively put your arms in front to cushion the impact. Wow! You must have landed on the edge of a stair to damage the BlackBerry Z10 to the point of folding. Do you have insurance through your credit card, assuming you bought it on credit card instead of cash or debit card? What a way to ruin a day!

I normally keep it in my front jacket pocket but I had my car keys in there and didn't want to risk scratching the screen. The good news: the screen still isn't scratched, just broken.

And yes, I definitely landed on the edge of a stair. I did buy it via my MasterCard but went out and bought a replacement Z10 about 20 minutes after the accident, as I can't be without a phone. I still have to check my MC agreement to see if anything can be done.

Well at least you can get a white one now and have the black battery door to put on it.

why people put **** in their back pockets is beyond me.
besides being uncomfortable, you can be pickpocketted easily. and your phone can break if you sit on it.
