Hello, I cannot get the "rotation lock" to work on my Z10.

    Any idea why?

Just to clarify, you used the rotation lock option from the pull down menu on the home screen?

Yes I am trying to but nothing happens. As soon as I tap on it the pull down menu goes up.

Are pressing on the icon or the word? You have to press the icon.

Yes, tap on the image of the lock, not the words.

I don't understand why BlackBerry built a menu where tapping words makes the menu disappear. It just seems a little counter-intuitive.

This is only the case for Rotation Lock. All of the other words are links to those items in the settings menu.

Still, you think that because you have the ability to tap words for all the other settings you'd be able for rotation lock.

Where should it take you? I'm unaware of a rotation lock settings menu.

That one doesn't take you anywhere, but all the others do.

It should activate the rotation lock. No menus, just activate the lock.

Tapping the icon simply toggles the option on or off. Tapping the word takes you to the actual setting in the menu for advanced settings. Such as setting up a wifi network or bluetooth, or changing your profile, but seeing as there aren't any advanced options for Rotation Lock, just on or off, there is no need for this feature.

That would actually make less sense structurally.

I actually have an answer to that.

The icon is meant as a toggle and the words is meant to open the app or setting menu associated with it. When you tap on the words, it closes the menu and opens up the app or settings page.
E.g.if you tap the alarm the menu disappears and the alarm app opens.
In the case of the rotation lock, no app or settings menu opens, so it looks like it just closes the menu. lol

Ok, but I agree that in the absence of a menu to open, just enable the lock instead. Yes, keep the structure where available, otherwise don't waste an opportunity.
