    It's still Posix.
I would like if someone can tell me as informed as possible WHY it can't be rooted?
not because i want to root it, but to know to which extent the phone is secured against rooting or what are the obstacles to obtain the root.
Wouldn't it be possible to root one of those leaks?
Couldn't you modify those images? Or the bootloader has some keys checking?

Posix has nothing to do with it.

It is essentially a matter of security. Except in a few circumstances smart phones are configured to not provide the end user with administrative (root) access except through very carefully designed interfaces to provide only the functions needed for the end user. If you work for a large corporation and use a computer it is very likely configured in a similar way. To gain root access on systems like that requires the use of vulnerabilities to gain root privileges long enough to alter the configuration of the device operating system. If a vulnerability can be used to give the legitimate user root access, it can also be used to write maleware to give a miscreant root access to the device. So a truly secure device is one which has no exploitable vulnerabilities and therefore can't be rooted. This is why whether or not the Priv can be rooted is important to the very security conscious user that may want to buy it.

Even the leaks still come from and are signed by BlackBerry, so that's not a weak point. And the phone's bootloader will not accept an unsigned OS.

You could try to modify the OS, but then you have to get it back inside BlackBerry so that one of their people can re-sign the file. How easy do you see that being?

Routed would be very hard to do. Exploiting vulnerabilities a bit easier but then given the nature of QNX how far would you get.

I rooted Androids primarily to get rid of manufacturers bloatware or even blatant spyware. Sometime it was the only way to get a device to function properly.

With BlackBerry it is all I need, it's got all I need and functions like I need it to do.

Even after a year of abuse, the z10 is still as fast as it came out of the box!
