RIPPED OFF For Blackberry Z10
There is this guy going around posting all over the area for Unlocked Blackberry Z10 for 500$. What he will do is show you he shipped the product and once you track it, you send him the money via moneygram. I checked the website out etc. and looked all legit especially since I could follow tracking. Well I sent the 500$, then today when it is around 3pm I call him and say the item hasn't shown up. NOW all of a sudden there is a 200$ additional fee because the overnight shipping fee was confused. Status on my order shows:
28-FEB-2013 IN TRANSIT TO TAMPA FLORIDA USA
01-03-2013 ARRIVED TAMPA FLORIDA
01-03-2013 ARRIVED TAMPA FLORIDA PLACED ON HOLD DUE TO NON PAYMENT (this is where the additional 200$ came in)
Now this man is ignoring my calls. I'm out 500$ so I'm spreading the word!!!! The website address is Global Logistics Freight Solutions Limited | Home Page.

Thanks, this just irritates the living crap out of me because of the loss of funds. I figured since you could actually track your package, it's pretty darn legit. I just don't want others to fall for this trap! Other names to watch out for "Mary E Woodard" and " Margaret Webster". I do not know what to do about my 500$. I probably should report this to the police department and all the websites and info I have as well. I'm at a loss......

I prefer to stick to my cell phone carrier when buying phones

Call the police and see if they can do anything about it as it's theft really.
Feel for ya bud, next time buy from a legit person or site. If it's too good to be true then usually it is, that's what I usually say when I see something that's just too good to be true.

Did you pay by credit card or bank card? If so, contact them. I definitely would contact the police and the police department in his town. If you did any of this using the Post Office, I would contact the postal authorities. Good luck with this

Yea, contact the police at least. There has to be something.. hope you can get your money back. That stinks.

Moneygram. The funds were already picked up. Lost, gone.... All I can do is report to the Police and give them all the information I have. Thank you all for your replies. I just want to get the word out! There was an ad for one in Sarasota about an hour from here for 100$ more, should have made that drive to get that one in person! Dumb move on my part.

Because I could actually track where the shipment was. I figured it was a fair deal. If you order on ebay, you pay for it before hand don't you? I always have had to.

ebay is different. ebay you are protected as buyer, you can request refund easily. i have heard of cases where someone send a laptop, the person paid after seeing tracking info, and the laptop package turned up as a box of rocks.if you have no protection at all, its better to wait till you have the package and verify what it is before you pay

Re: RIPPED OFF For Blackberry Z10
I always buy my phones, or tablets, from trusted stores in shopping centers, and such but, sometimes I buy from trusted sellers, always look for reviews, make sure there are more positives, than the negatives, or it will hit you hard, in your wallet, and time, of course.

See that whole MoneyGram thing is what would've steered me away right there. PayPal I might have gone with it. But regardless, what's done is done. Contact police. Cancel any credit cards you used in the transactions (if any), and thanks for getting the word out!

You know the cost from a Canadian carrier is about $800 with tax and currency exchange rate. You think you're going to get it for $300 less? Sorry but you had to know better.
You can waste time with police if you want but they aren't going to lift a finger.A new paradigm is coming. Can you feel the shifting zeitgeist? - 03-01-2013, 08:18 PM #19
As some have said use PayPal or Credit Card. Both have the ability to charge back, PayPal can get iffy sometimes because sellers avoid it because they can get ripped off or if you do make a claim the burden of proof is on you.
In the end, NEVER use any form of money transfer, always asking to be ripped off when you do. - 03-01-2013, 08:20 PM #20Visit my contemporary glamour photography channel ~ C0011B779

OMG! This guy has called me back and swears he has never had any trouble at all with this shipping company. NOW that status says Dates
Current Status
01-03-2013 ON DELIVERY TO ADDRESS BUT CALLED BACK DUE TO CANCELLATION OF PAYMENT. RE-SCHEDULED TO DELIVER ON 02-03-2013 AT 0900AM AFTER PAYMENT HAD BEEN CONFIRMED
He tells me now that he is going to call them and find out why the 200$ was involved and try to resolve this. I told him I want my 500$ back OR he pays the 200 and deliver the damn phone to me! It does give me some hope that he is still contacting me and me not contacting him. Jeez, I've NEVER had such trouble in my life with stuff like this. - 03-01-2013, 08:29 PM

Never send money through MoneyGram, or Western Union to people you do not know.
I'm pretty sure it very clearly states that when you go in to do the money transfer.
MoneyGram and Western Union money transfers is like leaving money under a park bench and letting the other person know where to pick up the money. No way to trace it, no way to get it back. Once it's gone, it's gone.
Unfortunately, there is not much you can do other than report it to the police. Chances are though, you're not going to see your money back.
Further more, never accept a Cash On Delivery package. E.g. If someone says you can pay for the item when you get the item.
You do not know what is in the package when you pay, and carriers will not let you open it until you pay. So for all you know, you could get a brick.
Never accept a cheque as payment. Even if the bank clears it after 5 days, if they find that the cheque is fraudulant weeks later, they'll take the money back. Common scams include someone sending you a cheque, and then they ask that you pay their "legal fees". You think the money has cleared, so you send a portion of the money you deposited from the cheque you were sent, but a few weeks later the cheque amount is going to be deemed fraudulant and you will lose whatever money you sent.
The safest way to buy something is in person, face to face. Cash in one hand, product in the other.
Of course with so much online shopping, this isn't always possible, so the next best thing is Ebay. (Check the person's feedback, etc) But this is expensive for the person selling the item because of ebay fees.
So the third option is to pay using Paypal and ensure the person gives tracking number. The problem is that as long as they send you something with a tracking number, Paypal usually says that the transaction was completed successfully. Even if you bought a phone and was sent a brick. There are cases where if you can prove that they sent you a brick instead of a phone, you'll get your money back. But it's up to Paypal to determine who is lying. And lets be honest, it's not easy to prove you got a brick instead of a phone. - 03-01-2013, 08:42 PM #25
