I'm convinced that the problem is with the wireless connection even though the phone is still connected. I've been having this problem for months, I finally figured it out when my Internet went out and my router timed out. I plugged my phone to my laptop and it loaded and mounted immediately! After I realized that to reboot the router the drive on my Z10 would not mount. I can't explain this but it is a fact. I will get a new router or just use my rogers modem as my router again (which has a crappy range)
I hope this is a good help to our problems.

Thanks for letting me into the Forum

After reading on BlackBerry Help Blog, that if you turn you Firewall off the RFA will work.

I tried it and it does. But who wants their firewall off for any amount of time.

Is there another fix that involves not turning your firewall off.

There seems to be various causes and solutions. Mine didn't work even with the firewall off.

Ah I see, yeah it only works with firewall off but who wants that.
As someone who relied on RFA this is defeating.

As with any app/port that needs to be open, add the rule to allow it in firewall.

When installing various network apps, they often have an option to add windows firewall exception automatically, which sounds like Link needs during installation.

I've set the Firewall exception sometime ago.
Still only connects with firewall off.
