I'm thinking of reloading the OS and start a new fresh as I don't trust the OS version that comes dirrectly from my carrier so I'm asking if I had a fresh new install of the OS, will all of my data including games, apps, contacts, etc. will be gone for good?

Yes its like doing it for any phone. Every single data / app / anything else will be deleted UNLESS you back up the phone & do it after.
