Default Random reboots hardware or software related

    Hello

I got my second z10 (first one sold) and have between 2 weeks two random reboots

First was in hub - all freezed then rebooted.
Second was 2 hours ago and i did nothing with my phone.

So I searched crackberry forum for that and found several threads with same issue.
    But no solution yet.
Some exchanged phone and it is gone. Another same issues still there

I have no sideloaded apps but a lot installed from bbry world.

So is this now hardware or more software related issue?
I am using a 64gb card but same was running on my other z10 without a problem
And was formatted in new device

My OS is on latest version. 99 tmo in germany

    Any hints are welcome
Or should I exchange the phone?

    Alex

I've had one reboot in over the month I've had it. At this point I would chalk it up to software and not be so quick to exchange it.

Most carrier exchange policies are for a refurbished device. I would hate to switch for a refurbished device only to find out it was software related and taken care of in future updates.

    That's my problem too
But had 2 reboots between short time

So going to exchange is maybe wasting time

Only my point is: my first device didn't reboot all the time

So I need more feedback from other affected users

    Thanks

My zten was going strong and then it started rebooting randomly, I found it was being caused by my memory card. when I encrypted the files that's when it started acting up. When I took the card out it worked well, tried taking off the encryption but before could even get to it, it rebooted. I change my card with a formated card and no problems since. Will use my old bold to decrypt if possible and try putting card in again

Yeah, I had several random reboots with my device. I brought it to the kiosk I bought it from, and they gave me a replacement. It's only been two days, but so far I haven't seen any random reboots with the replacement.

I Have had a similar experience, I noticed the occassional reboot every now and then. Which annoyed me a bit.
Then I installed battery guru and noticed the frequency of the reboots, I am on average getting at least 2 a day, sometimes 3 or 4. Always 1 overnight on the charger and then the others at random times. On latest software, the only apps I am running are the hub and battery guru and no side loaded apps. I have a memory card, but one I got with my old blackberry that I just slotted into the Z10.

I will take it in today to talk to the blackberry people.

I took mine into the BlackBerry expert service centre yesterday and they did a device wipe and reinstall of the os.

So since then it has rebooted 3 times already.

Went in again today and they said they
..would take it and monitor over 3 days. So I am gong to change my media card and battery to see if that has an impact.

Will also try singtel to see if I can do an exchange. Not holding my breath there.

I was also gong to say that the BlackBerry person said that the reboots may be related to a data issue. I thought that was interesting but of an issue for a smart phone you would think.

Same here. My Z10 (STL100-2) is restarting every night when in bedside mode. I've already wiped the device and re-installed the OS. But that did not solve the problem. I do not have any sideloaded apps installed and only 6 -7 Apps from BlackBerry World. My OS is 10.0.10.90 (10.0.10.690).

I had a unlocked 100-3 model and I to had some random re boots, I reformatted my micro SD and haven't had any since. I just got a brand new 1003-3 from T Mobile, restored my data and it's been perfect.

I've had 4 over the last 5 weeks. Two while using Ulysse speedometer and 2 I just happened to notice the phone restarting, maybe one of those times I had the pictures app open.

I experience this too. My z10 reboots when I'm copying files to the SD card when the z10 is connected to the computer. My SD card is also set for encryption (can't turn it off due to an IT policy). I hope there is a fix for this.

Daily reboots here (averaging about 1 - 2 a day for 5 days). First was within a few hours after getting phone. Had no SD card.

    Wiped, same problems.

Exchanged for brand new phone. About 2 hours after, 1st reboot on new phone.

    Apps running are:

    1. Hub++
    2. BE Weather PRO
    3. Battery Guru.

    WIFI on.

Conclusion is probably software, however, can't rule out two bad devices with hardware issues.

    Edit:
I made this post(click here) on the blackberry developer support forums. Hope it helps them to come to a faster resolution to the problem.

Frank, all my pics are now on the SD card. Strangely, just as I open this thread the cell phone rang, I answered from landline (auto forwarded to cell phone) and then it reset. Hmmm
