    What is the difference between.....

Fix misspelled words and insert top prediction?

Both seem to do the same and I am not seeing a difference when I am using the phone

    Help and thanks.

Good question. If someone can explain it might account for some of the frustrations some people have (not me- I find it very good).

I'm sorry that I cannot be of help.

I have asked essentially the same question as well as what the heck setting space bar correct to "on" but then choosing "off" from the drop-down menu does. Nobody seems to know.

The only thing I can add is pre-10.1, there used to be two options there...modest and aggressive...something like that. I think basically modest was replaced by "fix misspelled words", and aggressive was replaced with "insert top prediction."

That still doesn't answer what setting the drop-down to "off" does. Why does that setting need to be there when the user can just turn off the space bar correct with the corresponding on/off slider button?

It's been over a year already and I suppose you must have found the answer already...

But anyway here's the answer for future BB10 users:
"insert top prediction" means the system will automatically replace the wrong spelling word with the first prediction on top of the keyboard
For "fix misspelled word," system does not "correct" the word for you, but instead you'll see red underline, so you can press and hold the underlined word to correct it.
