Why does the PlayBook Video Chat option in contacts not show up for some of my contacts that I know have a PlayBook, and that I'm positive I'm using there bbid for there email address????? I can not figure this out and I've tried everything I can think of and everything that I've read to do. This is the only issue that I've had on my new Z10 that I can't solve. Please help with getting the PlayBook Video Chat Option on all my contacts who have Playbooks and not just some!!

When I was trying to get this to work with my GF's PB, I had to edit her contact info and add another BB PIN field with her PB's PIN. Then I got the option for PlayBook Video Chat.

Every time I've done that T-Bone the "Add to BBM" button comes up after the PIN and the PlayBook Video Chat option never comes up.

Did it pop up eight away or did you have to wait?

I have this problem as well. For some of my contacts, everything is good, for others though, it picks up their phone bbm but not playbook.

It's happened to me as well. Contacts really need some improvement. Sometimes it shows the PB video icon for some contacts and some time it doesn't. I have to relink them in order to work. Try creating a new contact with just the email address and then link it to the contact you want.

I have the same issue. My wife and Dad both have playbooks, and I have their bbid emails in their contact info. However, only my dad's contact gets the pb video chat option while my wife's does not.

Make sure their contacts only has one of the bbid email. I remember another post mentioning that when you link 2 contacts that's both have the bbid, it gets screwed up.

Ok. I will unlink her accounts, delete any duplicate bbid emails, relink and post back!

I rebooted afterwards and everything.

Also, I made sure to fully unlink each contact entry. For example, if you have 3 contacts a,b, and c and you unlink b and c from a, then b and c will still be linked to each other so you have to open b and c and unlink them as well.

But alas, no luck :/

Let's trying a troubleshooting test.

-Go to a contact that has the PlayBook video chat working.

-Copy their bbid email optional: then remove the bbid from their contact)

-Go to the contact that is not working and paste the copied bbid email address overtop the not working bbid.

Now see if the PlayBook video chat will appear green.

For me it worked as soon as I saved it. The weird thing was that after the option for PlayBook video chat appeared, it removed the PB PIN from the contact record.

This is crazy I know, buy I just added a contacts Facebook email address (I guess we all get one from Facebook. Look under "About" on their page) to their contact card, and bang, the PlayBook Video Chat option appeared. This is obviously not my contacts bbid email, but it worked. Crazy I know.

Some people's facebook email is the same as they entered when they created a BBID, so it's not too crazy...

It is crazy when I know my contacts bbid email address and the fact my contact had no idea, Facebook designated them an email address. Just saying.

it's so odd, when I use video chat on my PlayBook I can see that it knows which contacts have video chat.

Well, here in UAE playbook video chat is disabled by the network itself. :-(
