Pioneer is the leader when it comes to high grade in car navigation/dvd units. In 2009 I bought the Avic F90BT, a high end navigation unit. It was the s***! I still very much enjoy the unit.

Anyways they have a new line up of units called "AppRadio 3". It basically has all the functions of a normal cd, dvd, am/fm, hd radio, navigation, hands free calling, etc, ect. It's one bad mofo. It supports the iphone 5/4, and select android phones. Does anyone have any insight in the ability to use the android runtime in the Z10 to allow it to be combatable to the pioneer head unit? Comb

I appreciate all responses. Thank you.

If it works similar to my high end Alpine then you should be able to make hands free calls, stream over blue tooth or usb although usb doesn't seem to recognize the sd card properly so not all music plays over usb... think 10.2 is supposed to fix that. If they have an Android app it is possible to side load and use that as you would on a Android phone.

Yeah there is a plethora of apps that pioneer offers to connect to the head unit that allow you to control through the screen of the head unit. My concern is that the phone must be hooked up via cable for the apps to work. Sure the bluetooth works as far as hands free and music streaming through the device. But to get the other apps to work the cable must be connected for the two devices to communicate.

So the Android apps don't have blue tooth capabilities?

I hadn't really tried streaming content on my alpine while using a app, but, logged onto Songza this morning and it works like a charm... I will try playing a movie and using some other apps later today as I'm sure it will stream any content when connected via blu tooth. USB cable is not needed.

My friend, works fine with Z30 connected to Pioneer appRadio on Pioneer AVH 8550BT and I guess the same should with all high-end pioneers. little bit of glitches on pressing buttons while selecting location and ofcourse the keyboard willl never work.

I have my Z10 working with Pioneer AppRadio 3, SPH-DA210. Works pretty good. Just have to get rid of the Android bar's in all the apps you want to run. It isn't perfect, but I'm hoping 10.3 will reduce some of the minor issues I have found.

I was wondering if anyone else has had success using there BB10 with AR3? MirrorLink should work fine, Im just wondering if the Apps that supposed to work with it will.

I am going to be trying the Rooted Android Dongle after, once i receive mine!

Just curious to see if this will work, I ordered the SlipPort adaptor to try and see if it works with my Passport, it should be here Wednesday.

First you said your high end alpine, then you say it was $200. So either you got a smokin deal on a high end alpine or you have two decks

I had my AVIC 6000NEX working perfectly with my Z10, not so much with the Passport. Has anyone managed with the Passport.
