I have used both the z10 and the iPhone 5 and I can say the call quality on both devices is very good. I am on T Mobile USA and I used the z10 for about 3 1/2 weeks as my daily driver.

I never had any dropped calls and I always had a 4G signal on both devices. To the folks who like to knock the iPhone and think its a toy! There are 20 million folks out there who don't think it is and it was voted the best smartphone again by the consumer.

To me it's a personal choice and as much as I loved my z10, I went through 4 devices because of it rebooting in the middle of a phone call which my iPhone 5 has never done. In the end, it's your decision.

I've been in NYC and for the past few weeks have had lots of company from the Mobile Nations team here and basically all phones represented. When were going out to restaurants and places, have found the BB10 phones have signal left when the iPhone doesn't. Just tweeted this out the other dag actually. Was out in a restaurant with Rene from our iMore site and his iPhone didn't have data anymore but I was still fully able to use my BlackBerry.

I'm sure it will vary a bit based on specific circumstances but overall I think the BlackBerry radios are rock solid.

I find the Z10 to have amazing signal strength, it keeps working where both my 9700 and 9900 can't.

Here in Australia, Telstra conduct extensive testing of devices to rate the signal strength of each device. The best devices receive the Telstra 'blue tick' certification.

BlackBerry Z10 - Is a Blue Tick device.
Apple iPhone5 - Is not.
